Mark A. Yordy, 71, of Kewanee, passed away Thursday, October 9, 2025, at home surrounded by his family. Mark was born December 11, 1953, in Kewanee, the son of Harry and Ann (Bullock) Yordy. He attended Kewanee High School, graduating with the class of 1972. He married Julie Yordy; she preceded him in death on August 25, 2012. He married Madeline VanWinkle on December 12, 2015, in Las Vegas, NV; she survives.
Mark is also survived by two sisters, Elizabeth "Kay" Wurmnest, Georgia, Glenda Hanson, Bloomington, IL; one brother, Don (Janel) Yordy, Sterling, IL; two sons, David (Jessica) Hull, Thad (Connie) Yordy; two daughters, Katie (Shaun) Gerard, Kelsey (Nick) Neels; a step son, Eddie (Blanca) Burnett; a step daughter, Christie (Dustin) Burnett; two aunts, Linda Crowsby and Bernadine (Deannie) Bullock; grandchildren, Brody, Paige, Kiersten, Gemma, Finnick, Dalton, Gretchen, Dawson, Kinsleigh, Harper, and Wrenlee, all of Kewanee; many nieces and nephews; and his favorite pain the butt dog, Mia. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and an uncle who was more like a dad, Don Bullock.
Mark worked in maintenance at OSF St. Luke's Medical Center for 30+ years; retiring in 2021. He was a maintenance mechanic for Bullocks Heating and Air; he previously worked at Walworth's and the Galva Foundry. He was a proud member of the Eagles Club. Mark was a true enthusiast of the open road; he found solace and freedom atop his cherished motorcycle. He also enjoyed fishing. Mark was an avid bowler. Mark was in Boy Scouts and was a proud Eagle Scout. He was a long-time member of the Kewanee Picks League.
Graveside services will be at 1:30 pm, Friday, October 24, 2025, at Mount Olivet Cemetery. Pastor Andrew Christman will officiate. A Celebration of Life will follow at the American Legion. Memorials may be made to the Hog Capital Wildlife Rescue & Rehab. Online condolences may be left for Mark's family at www.golnickschuenemanfh.com.
