Markell Jackson Obituary

Published by Legacy on May 31, 2023.
On Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at 7:30PM, with a call from our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the Angels came and escorted Markell to his heavenly home. It broke our hearts to lose him, but he didn't go alone, for part of us went with him, when God called him home.
Markell Bryan Jackson, 18, was born in Lake Charles, Louisiana on January 30, 2005, to proud parents, Shella White Jackson and Milton Jackson, Sr.
Markell accepted Christ as his personal Savior at an early age and was baptized at the age of six.
Markell received his early education at Fairview Elementary and Forest K. White Elementary Schools. On May 20, 2023, he graduated from LaGrange Senior High School, where he proudly received Academic Excellence Honors. His educational goal after high school was to attend SOWELA Technical College and major in Welding. In high school, Markell played football and basketball, both of which he loved. He was adored by his teammates and coaches.
Markell was always a loving, respectful person and he loved hanging out with his friends. His past time enjoyment and hobbies included rapping, listening to music and going to the movies. He was jovial, witty and he enjoyed being a jokester. To see Markell, he was slender, six foot four inches, but he had a hearty appetite and he LOVED to eat!
Markell was a wonderful son, brother, cousin and friend. He leaves to cherish his memories, a devoted loving mother, Shella Jones, a loving bonus father, Timothy Jones and loving biological father, Milton (Tyescha) Jackson, Sr.; maternal grandmother, Audrey Johnson, paternal grandmother, Natalie Prudhomme, Bonus grandparents, T.A. (Glenda) Jones; two sisters, D'airaka M. White and Mia B. Jackson, four brothers, Gus T. Antoine, Jr., Milton B. Jackson, Jr., Jeremiah Joseph White and Jayden Q. Jasmine; one half-sister, Natalie B. Jackson, two nieces, Imani White and Camryn Bruce, along with a host of loving great aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Markell was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Milton Prudhomme, maternal grandfather, Sidney White, Sr. and uncle, Sidney White, Jr.
His visitation will be Friday, June 2, 2023 from 3PM with his funeral following at 5PM, at Mt. Olive Baptist Church located at 3007 Enterprise Blvd. in Lake Charles. Pastor Braylon Harris will officiate.
