Marla Beth Waggoner

MARLA BETH WAGGONER Marla Beth Waggoner, age 62, passed away Saturday, August 16th, 2025, after a courageous battle with Pancreatic Cancer. She was at home surrounded by loved ones. Marla was born September 21, 1962, in Denison, TX, to the late Billy & Marlene Waymire. She graduated from Denison High School in 1981. After high school, she attended Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant, Oklahoma, and graduated in 1985. After graduation, Marla started her career of 15 years with Brown & Williamson Tobacco Company. She was on the fast track, having been promoted three times to Assistant Division Manager, Division Manager, and Key Accounts Manager. She then went to work for Hudson Technologies for 21 years. Over the years, she worked in several aspects of sales, field service, and refrigerant. For a number of years prior to her retirement, she was the top-performing salesperson. Customers were equally reliant on her and scared of her if they didn't send her a PO. Her favorite line was "my grandbabies need shoes." She was an extremely successful businesswoman and made lasting friendships throughout her career. Marla married the love of her life, David Waggoner, on May 19, 1990, and they were happily married for 29 years. She and David enjoyed their time together with family and friends. She enjoyed traveling, especially going on cruises. Marla also enjoyed boating and camping on Lake Texoma. Her pride and joy were her grandchildren; many memories were made with them at the lake, pool, and annual family vacations. Marla is survived by her two sons, Matt Waggoner and wife Laura; their three children, Kaden, Carson and Hadley of Palo Pinto, Texas; Brandon Waggoner and wife Tiana; their son Cooper of Blueridge, Texas; Sister, Alissa Ross of Lake Dallas, Texas; Brother, Kevin Waymire and wife Maria of Weatherford, Texas; Brother-in-law, Jimmy Waggoner and wife Lisa; their daughter Morgan of Cameron, Missouri. Niece, Sharon Wilder of El Cajon, California; Nephew, Ben Stein and wife Brandi; their son Beck of Hickory Creek, Texas; Nephew, Daniel Stein and wife Erin; their children Harlow & Willa of El Cajon, California; Alana Gammill and husband Christopher; their son Jaxon of Lewisville, Texas; Nephew, Kaleb Waymire and girlfriend Kelly of Sherman, Texas; Niece, Brittany Doshier and husband Joe of Atoka, Oklahoma. She is also survived by many other beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins. Marla was preceded in death by her husband, David Waggoner, parents Billy & Marlene Waymire, sister, Karla Stein, granddaughter Brooklyn Waggoner, in-laws Jim and Barbara Waggoner, and sister-in-law, Donna Waggoner. Marla was a loving Christian woman who had a huge heart for helping others. She fought hard and remained brave and iron-willed even throughout her final days. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who know her. Her family and friends would like to express their thanks for the wonderful care given by Home Hospice of Grayson County. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, September 13th, 2025, at Fairview Cemetery Chapel, 1501 US Hwy 75, Denison, TX 75020, officiated by Pastor Louella Williams. A Celebration of Life will be hosted in the Magnolia Ballroom at 4:00 PM Saturday, September 13th, and dinner will be served at 5:30 PM.
