Obituary published on Legacy.com by Brettschneider-Trettin-Nickel Funeral Chapel & Crematory - Appleton on Dec. 16, 2025.
Mar passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, December 7th, 2025, while traveling with her husband John between Texas and Oklahoma. She was born on August 31st, 1970, in
Pocatello, Idaho. After graduating high school she pursued a degree at BYU-Provo and while there, she met and fell in love with Christopher Scott Bentley. Their sweet courtship and engagement set the tone for the rest of their married lives. They were sealed in the Los Angeles Temple May 2nd, 1991, for time and all eternity. Their love and devotion to each other raised the bar for their children in finding spouses to live their lives with. They showed their children by word and deed how to rely on their Savior and trust in His goodness. They left a legacy of faith and perseverance, trusting in God no matter the trials that came their way. Their love story left an enduring influence on their posterity and all those that knew them. They were blessed with one son, four daughters, and two out-laws with more to come.
After twenty-nine years of marriage, her sweetheart Chris passed on to his heavenly home. Facing this sudden loss with an eye of faith and a heart turned towards God, she sought to find peace and joy even in the midst of her sorrow.
On January 3rd, 2025, after developing a friendship that blossomed into a new love, she married John Hendrickson Jr. in Appleton Wisconsin. Their love and sense of adventure carried them across the country, visiting forty-four of the fifty states. During this time visiting friends and family, they found joy, love, and companionship in their life together. Her heart expanded even more than she thought possible and through her second marriage she was blessed with even more family to shower with love.
Mar had a close relationship with her Savior Jesus Christ, which was facilitated through her membership at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Throughout her life she accepted and faithfully served in various callings. Mar's passion for genealogy work and bringing families together is fueled by a desire for others to experience the same blessings that are so dear to her heart. Her love for the Lord was one of the hallmarks of her life. Dedicated to serving others, she found "her people" everywhere she went. Adopting them into her life, she extended an arm of fellowship to all of those within her circle. That love was evident in the way she lived every day of her life.
She is survived by her husband John Hendrickson Jr, her mother Sharon Fuhriman, her father John Fuhriman, her brother John T (Becky) Fuhriman, her sister Sharie (Jean-Paul) Kranz, her brother David (Heather) Fuhriman, and her children (from oldest to youngest) Christopher "Scott" (Brianna) Bentley, Jessica (Dylan) Dance, Kyla, Rebekah, and Melinda Bentley. She is also survived by her grandchildren Emeline (12) and Emeril Dance (7), Anna (5), Christopher "Topher" (2), and William "Will" Bentley (9 months). In addition to her immediate family, she leaves behind many beloved Hendrickson family members. She is preceded in death by her husband Christopher Bentley, and her grandchildren that were briefly here and still live on in our hearts.
"... the tender mercies of the Lord are over all those whom he hath chosen, because of their faith, to make them mighty even unto the power of deliverance."
1st Nephi 1:20
