Marlene "Nana" Bennett

Marlene Bennett, 92, of Hart Texas, passed away peacefully on February 24, 2024, surrounded by her family. A memorial service will be held April 6, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Bartley Memorial Chapel with Travis Bennett officiating and Harold Bob speaking.
Marlene was born on January 13, 1932, to Kenneth and Christene Lambert in Hammon, Oklahoma. She married the love of her life, Bobby Ray Bennett in 1949, in Sweetwater, Texas. She and Bobby owned B&K Grocery in Hart, they were co-owners of B&B Farm Supply and Auto Parts in Hart and Bob's Auto Parts in Levelland. They later donated the grocery store to the Golden Group.
She was a member of First Untied Methodist Church in Hart. She was also a member and founder of the Golden Group, a member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority and Bridge Club of Plainview. Her hobbies were painting, artwork, and she enjoyed time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved traveling and going to the mountains.
Those left to cherish her memories are her daughter, Sandy Sides of Lubbock, 4 grandchildren, Kelli Kriston Niuman and husband Jeremy of Nacogdoches, Ricka MaRay Overgoner and husband Brian, of Nacogdoches, Lindsey Marie Holloway and husband Clint of Lubbock, and Shane Bennett of Utah, 3 great-grandchildren, Danni Leigh Niuman, Mason Walker Niuman, and Madeline Ella Overgoner.
Marlene was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Christene Lambert, her husband Bob Bennett, 1 son, Ricky Ray Bennett and her sister, Jan Cooper.
