Marlene C. Brach,
(nee Strysick)
Born on June 23rd,1938 to Leslie and Leona Strysick of Sheboygan, flew home on eagle wings on December 14th, 2023, and is now with her beloved husband and friend of 59 years, Jonas Brach.
Marlene and Jonas met in New Berlin and resided in Waukesha for their entire married life. As a couple they bought property in 1965 in the town of Nashville and in 1971 built their family cabin. They enjoyed their property on Bishop Lake and the lifelong friends they made. They annually attended Kentucky Days in the city of Crandon where they enjoyed food, music, and crafts. Marlene learned to play piano and organ as a youth and loved to dance. Marlene and Jonas were members of St Luke's Lutheran Church in Waukesha and attended service regularly.
Marlene was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker. She took pride in taking care of her family and home. Keeping her house clean and in order. Always having everything packed and ready to go for the weekends spent with family at the cabin. She wanted her family happy and to know they were loved. She was known for her Swiss steak, pot roast, beef tips, fried noodles, and mock chicken legs.
She was a loving caretaker for Erin Smith and her sister Sarah for many years and kept a long-lasting relationship with the two girls as they became adults and started their own families. They always called her Nana. Marlene could not wait and welcomed caring for her two granddaughters as small children to early adolescence. They were her pride and joy.
Marlene is survived by her sons David Brach and Matthew (Lynn Tyree) Brach of Waukesha and granddaughters Jessica Brach of Mukwonago and Megan (Tim) Soma of Fort Atkinson and grandson Benjamin Walters and great grandsons, Beau Soma, and Noah Soma. Marlene is survived by a sister – in law, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many special friends. Further survived by Jackie (Marlin) Czuposwski of Sullivan who was very fondly thought of and loved by Marlene.
Preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband Jonas, her siblings, Ronald, Richard, and Buddy.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday December 26, 2023, at CHURCH AND CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME, 380 W. Bluemound Rd. Waukesha from 9:00AM until the time of Service at 11:00AM.
