Marlene Ann Bunten, 88, of Villa Hills, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on December 10, 2025, with her daughters by her side. She was born on April 2, 1937, to the late Arthur and Christine Hemsath.
Marlene dedicated 30 years of service to the Internal Revenue Service, where she worked as a Problem Resolution Officer, helping countless individuals navigate complex challenges with patience, compassion, and integrity. Beyond her professional career, she was deeply involved in civic and community service. She proudly served as President of the National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association (NARFE) and as District IV Vice President. Marlene also devoted many years as a volunteer with the American Cancer Society, a cause close to her heart.
In addition to her parents, Marlene was preceded in death by her beloved great-granddaughter, Annabelle Beauchamp.
She is survived by her loving children: Kathy Caulfield (John), Karma Klingenberg (John Cunningham), Kristy Gastright (Bob), and David Bunten (Cari); her siblings, Donna Ryan and Joe Hemsath; nine grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren.
Marlene will be remembered for her dedication to public service, her generous spirit, and her unwavering love for her family.
Services are private and for immediate family only.
