Marlene (Tate) Chisler, age 80, of Strasburg, passed away on January 17, 2026 in Ohio’s Hospice Truman House following a brief battle with cancer.
She was born on September 17, 1945, in McCarr, Kentucky, to the late Holbert Ramey and Lois (Lackey) Tate.
Marlene spent much of her working life as a waitress. On April 9, 1976, she married Roger Kevin Chisler, Sr.
She cherished family gatherings and often hosted meals for her loved ones, especially during the holidays. She enjoyed camping and fishing at Ohio Power Campground and spending time at Berlin Lake and Clendening. Boat rides were a favorite pastime, and in her younger years, she loved to go snow skiing.
In addition to her husband, Roger, she is survived by her children: Wanda (David) Hamilton of Piedmont, Kimberly (Carl) Hissner of Dellroy; Roger (April) “Kevin” Chisler, II of New Philadelphia; and Scott (Crystal) Chisler of Columbus; brothers-in-law, John (Tina) Chisler and Steven Chisler.
Marlene was a proud grandmother to Tiffany (Krystin Cargo) Antonellis, Kaitlyn (Kenny) Feister, Brady Winland, Madilyn Winland, Andrew Chisler, Tyler (Jessica) Chisler, Isabella (Alexander McIntire) Bishop, Earl (Kayla) Robinson, Janey (Kyle) Phelps, Adam Louk, Kennedy Chisler and Madison Chisler.
She is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren who brought her great joy.
