CUMBERLAND
Marlene C. (Sleczkowski) Koczera, 79, of Cumberland,RI formerly of Barrington, RI passed away on May 15, 2025 at Hope Health in Providence. She was the beloved wife of Charles A. Koczera and they have been married for the past 59 years.
Born in Central Falls, she was the daughter of the late Max and Evelyn (Koczwanski) Sleczkowski. She resided in Cumberland for over 35 years.
She was an office manager for several Providence area doctor's offices. She also was a talented bartender in Providence and Pawtucket establishments over the years. She retired as the secretary for Karol A. Romenski & Sons Funeral Home in Central Falls.
She enjoyed traveling, but most of all she loved spending time with her family especially her beloved grandsons.
In addition to her husband, she leaves her two daughters, Karen A. Gourd and her companion Frank Aveno of Pawtucket, and Kristen L. Stimpson and her husband Charlie of North Scituate; her son, Andrew C. Koczera and his wife Agnieszka of Cumberland; her two beloved grandsons, Thomas C. Koczera and Owen A. Koczera, both of Cumberland; her sister, Cassandra Razukiewicz and her husband Jack of East Providence; her two brothers, Rev. Bruce Sleczkowski and his wife Marian of Pittsburgh, PA and Dale Sleczkowski of Pawtucket; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was the sister of the late Maxine Juliano and Glen Sleczkowski.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Visiting Hours on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, from 4 to 7 PM and continue on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at 10 AM in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122, Cumberland. A prayer service will be held at 11 AM in the funeral home. Burial will follow at Holy Cross / Seekonk Cemetery in Seekonk, MA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her memory to the Hope Health Hospice and Palliative Care, 1085 North Main Street, Providence, RI 02904. or donate online HERE.
