Marlene M. Nast, 92, of Hunlock Creek went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 5th, 2024 at Birchwood Nursing Home.
Born on May 8, 1931 in Donora, Pa, she is the daughter of the late William Riesenbeck and Helen (Pehl) Adamusko.
Marlene was a graduate of Donora High School. She received a college degree in nursing and her career spanned over a decade as a nurse at Tunkhannock Middle School. To this day, those who were middle school students under her care when in school will reminisce and share a story about how Marlene was so kind when they were not feeling well and took care of them while at school. "We loved Nurse Nast"
Marlene gave her life to Jesus and attended Tunkhannock Baptist Church under the pastoring of the late Emory Weeks. Her love for her Savior was evident by her bold witness of her faith in Jesus Christ. When she understood her need to be forgiven of sin and made fit for heaven, she wanted to share John 3:16 with anyone the Lord brought in her circle. John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." (KJV) Once she moved to Hunlock Creek, she attended services at Grace & Glory Outreach.
Music held a special place in Marlene's heart, she loved to play the piano while singing the hymn book. She enjoyed praising her Savior all the way up to her departure. Marlene also was an avid painter in her leisure time and also enjoyed making homemade bread, apple pies and sticky buns. She was an avid sewer and knitter.
She is survived by sons, William Nast and wife Karen, Richard Nast, Robert Nast and wife Karen; daughter, Holly Serocki and John Weiskopf; sister Ruth Murdock; grandchildren, Jordyn Nast, Emily Atherton, Garrett and Ethan Deimeyer, Stephanie Hegge; great-grandchildren, Landon Deimeyer, Addy and Alora & Ana Hegge.
