Marlene Ann Niedermeier, of Woodstock, Georgia passed away on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at Manor Lake Bridgemill, in Canton, Georgia following an extended illness. She was 85 years old. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at Poole Funeral Home Woodstock. The funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, August 28, 2025, at Poole Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Shannon Salyer officiating. A second service will be held at Resurrection Mausoleum, in Peoria, IL on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, from 2:00 until 4:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes memorial contributions to the Alzheimer's Association at www.alz.org, in support of research and care of those living with all forms of dementia. Mrs. Niedermeier was born March 3, 1940, in Illinois to the late Chester and Marjorie Krug Greenwood. Marlene grew up on the farm in Hooppole, IL and later graduated from Annawan High School in 1958. Mrs. Niedermeier worked at Miguel's for over 20 years in Peoria, IL. She later met and married Fred Niedermeier in 1988. After Fred's passing, she later moved to Woodstock, Georgia in 2000 to be closer to her children and grandchildren. Mrs. Niedermeier volunteered at Northside Hospital Cherokee for over 18 years and her favorite job there was working in the gift shop. Survivors include her two daughters, Rhonda Cody (John), Woodstock, GA, Diane Parker, Canton, GA; one son, Matthew Kleckner, North Carolina; one sister, Helen Croegaert; four grandchildren, Kelli Brookins, Katie Howard, Jacob Parker, Wesley Parker; one great grandchild, Theodore Howard; several step-children; several nieces and nephews.
