Abbeville, LA – Funeral services for Marlene Nunez are scheduled for Saturday, December 27, 2025 for 11:00 A.M. at St. Mary Congregational Church – 213 S Louisiana Street. Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. until time of service. Pastor Kevin Williams will officiate the services. Interment will follow at St. Paul Cemetery – 515 Jacqulyn Street.

Marlene Nunez was born on March 5, 1944, a native of Abbeville, Louisiana. She passed on Saturday, December 13, 2025. She leaves to cherish her memory four children: O'Neil Nunez, Patricia Nunez Noel (Everick), Jacqueline Nunez, Myron Nunez (Debra), Spencer Nunez (Linda), sister Winnie Davis and friend/niece Lillian Ann Williams; five grandchildren: Cody Nunez, Bernadette Nunez Hill (Marlon), Brittney Nunez, Diamond Lee and Kameron Captiville; thirteen great-grandchildren: Kazari Nunez, Marlon Hill, Jr., Marjayla Hill, Marlaisha Hill, Malik Wyche, Ja'Nyla Wyche, Ja'Mya Wyche, Makayla Wyche, Alyssa Nunez, Aubrey Nunez, Peyton Lee, Marleigh Gallien and Kyron Wiltz; one great-great grandson Tre'Michael Knockum and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Julius Campbell, Sr. and Mable Thomas; her husband Wilmer Nunez, Sr. and son Wilmer Nunez, Jr.; thirteen brothers: Raphael Campbell, Eugene Campbell, Leroy Campbell, Clifton Campbell, Sr., Larry Campbell, Arabs Campbell, Anthony Campbell, Pastor Chester Campbell, Sr., Arthur Campbell, Larry Smith, Julius Campbell, Jr., Robert Campbelland Johnny Campbell; seven sisters: Mary Alice Thomas, Charlene Honeycutt, Lillian Williams, Goldie Campbell, Lillie Mae Lewis, Stella Verrett and Margaret Washington.
