Marlene Satre, age 88 of Mankato, formerly of Amboy, passed away on Friday, May 10, 2024 at The Pillars of Mankato. 

Funeral service will be held at 10:30 am on Wednesday, May 15 at Jackson Lake Lutheran Church in Amboy, MN. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 14 from 4:00 - 7:00 pm at Northview - North Mankato Mortuary and one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.

Marlene was born on March 10, 1936 in Albert Lea, Minnesota to Harold and Laura Pierce. She graduated from Freeborn High School. After graduating, she attended Waldorf College and then Mankato State to obtain her teaching degree. Her first teaching job was in Franklin, Minnesota. She continued her teaching career in Winnebago, Minnesota where she met the love of her life, Gene Satre. They were married on February 19, 1965 in Winnebago, Minnesota. She continued her love of teaching being a substitute teacher. She had a passion for music and not only played, but taught piano lessons. She also played the organ at her church for over 50 years.

Marlene was preceded in death by her husband, Gene and is survived by their children Bradley (Christine) and Douglas (Renae), grandchildren Megan, Brieana, Tyler, Halle, and Trey, and one brother, Neil (Candy) Pierce. She also has stepchildren Gayle (Kari), Teresa and special friend Larry; step-grandchildren Brenda (Paul), Val (Travis), Missy (Caleb), Taylor (Dylan), Heather (Kenny), Mandy (Curtis) and many step-great-grandchildren and step-great-great-grandchildren.
