MARLYN RICHARDS
Marlyn Richards, 83, Anabell, MO, formerly of Sturgeon, MO passed away Sunday, December 31, 2023, at the Boone Hospital Center in Columbia, MO surrounded by her family. She was born June 10, 1940, in Mexico, MO the daughter of the late Hobert and Mary (Lewis) George. On July 25, 1958, she was united in marriage to James A. "Bud" Richards.
In addition to her husband Bud of 65 years, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by four sons Terry Richards and his wife Jean of Smithville, TX, Randy Richards and Carol of Centralia, MO, James Scott Richards and his wife Delia of Kansas City, KS and Mark Richards and his wife Cassie of Gallatin, MO; four daughters Robin King and Tim of Elgin, TX, Penny Vanlandingham of Clark, MO, Lisa Paige and John of Sturgeon, MO and Michelle Richards and Thomas of Columbia, MO; two sisters Phyllis George-Smith of Hannibal, MO and Karen Abbott of Sedalia, MO; 18 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; several great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to her parents a son in law Jack Vanlandingham preceded her in death.
Marlyn first worked at State Farm Insurance, later as a Ward Clerk at Samaritan Hospital in Macon, MO and finally she owned and operated her own daycare in Texas. She was a past member of Mexico First Baptist Church and enjoyed reading, crocheting, knitting, cooking, and spending time with her family and friends.
A celebration of life will be 3:00 p.m. Saturday, January 6, 2024, at the Oliver Funeral Home in Sturgeon, MO. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Saturday, January 6, 2024, at the Oliver Funeral Home in Sturgeon, MO. Memorial contributions may be made to the Marlyn Richards Memorial Fund, c/o Oliver Funeral Home, P.O. Box 125, Centralia, MO 65240. Condolences may also be made to the family at www.oliverfuneralhome.net
