Marriette Schultz, 85, of Bridgewater passed away on Aug.18th at the Diamond Care Center in Bridgewater. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 24th at the United Methodist Church of Alexandria from 5-7 pm with prayer service at 7 pm. Burial will take place on Friday, Aug. 26th at 11 am at the Green Hill Cemetery of Alexandria.
Marriette Ruth Baney was born October 2, 1936 to Arthur and Anna (Petzoldt) Baney. She grew up in Olivet, SD and attended school through the 8th grade there. Marriette finished her GED in 1970 to become a Medical Aide at the Diamond Care Center where she worked for 20 years.
Marriette had a great love for gardening and canning. She loved to bake for her family and if you said you didn't want any she would say, "I'll get you some!" She loved to go fishing whenever she could.
On February 18, 1954, Marriette Baney married Edwin William Schultz. They were married for 62 years and had 3 children, Mick, Debi, & Lynn.
Through the years Marriette was a great memory maker. From baking and cooking for people to playing baseball in the yard. She loved to plan family reunions and cook for hunters whether she knew they were coming or not. She always had coffee on and something good to eat.
Marriette is survived by her son Michael (Patty) Schultz, daughter Debi (Marty) Barattini, son Lynn (Tamee) Schultz, 9 grandchildren and 14 great- grandchildren.
Marriette is preceded in death by her husband Edwin, her parents Art and Anna Baney, 4 sisters, 1 brother, and great-grandson Wyatt Michael Hanisch.
