"She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue. She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children arise and call her blessed.
Proverbs 31:25-27
Marsha Lynn Moore affectionately known as "Lynn" was born to birth parents Ora Lee Wilson South and Booker T. Washington in Pineville Louisiana on October 22, 1961, Marsha was reared and raised by her parents Samuel and Mary Moore. She entered internal rest on Thursday June 27, 2024, surrounded by her children and family.
Lynn received her early childhood education in the Rapides Parishes School system, and a proud graduate of the Peabody Magnet High School class of 1979. Lynn had a lifelong career in retail management where she met many people throughout her career. Lynn ended her career at Cleco Corporation as a Senior Customer Service representative.
Lynn accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her savior at a young age. She was a faithful member of the Zion Hill Church Family under the leadership of Pastor, Dr. Joshua Dara Sr. Even when she was going through her health issues Lynn would still make sure she attended Church virtually.
Lynn had an infectious spirit and laugh that would literally light up any room. Though she was "mama" to Javon, Derrick, and Courtney, she was "mama" to so many more. Lynn also had a love for traveling which led her on a new career journey of becoming a flight attendant for World Atlantic. She loved spending time with her family and most definitely SHOPPING with her shopping partner Coco. For
any occasion or celebration, she was involved with (and there were many) her decorative touch, attention to detail, and senses for fashion were an extension of her personal impeccable style. Lynn enjoyed hosting her annual Christmas Eve party for her children and grandchildren. You could even find her digging under the tree trying to figure out what gift was for who because they would be wrapped to
perfection with NO TAG! Even when her health began to decline, she would still serve her family and friends. Lynn truly fought "the good fight" until the end, never giving up. As she would always say "Hey my baby" her children and grandchildren were the apple of her eye and in her eyes, they did no wrong.
Lynn is preceded in death by her mother and father, Samuel and Mary Moore, birth parents, Ora Lee Wilson South, and Booker T. Washington. Sisters; Beatrice Mitchell, and Vickie Mitchell. Grandson; Xavier Fortson, Niece; Keanna Wilson. Nephews; Johnny "ray-ray" Perry and Anthony "yogi" Session.
She leaves to cherish her sweet precious memories sons; Javon Fortson Sr and Derrick Moore Sr. Daughter; Courtney (James) Hill.
