Marsha Lou Sylvester passed away Tuesday, August 19th at Gentle Care Strategies at the age of 75 with her family at her bedside. Marsha was preceded in death by her parents Richard and Mary Greer, and her brother Dean Greer. Marsha is survived by her husband, Donald Dee Sylvester, her sons Jeff Sylvester (Cindy), Jeremy Sylvester, her grandchildren Dallas Williams (Jacob), Jeremy David Sylvester (Kristie), Zach Bender, Jeremy Bender, Brad Bender, great-grandchildren Barron, Bristol, and Briley Williams, and her sister Martha (Bob) Yates. Marsha will always be lovingly remembered by them.
Marsha was a member of Wheatland United Methodist Church. She was also a former member of the Lions Club of Wheatland, IN. Marsha and Don met in their hometown of Harrodsburg, IN. Marsha and Don married on February 9, 1968, they were married 57 years. Marsha and Dons love for each other is a love like no other. While Don went out and worked, Marsha did the hardest job of them all. She was a homemaker. She raised and cared for her two sons and kept the house in tip-top shape. She loved to bake, garden, and plant flowers. She had a knack for being crafty. She especially enjoyed making wreaths and flower arraignments. Marsha also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great – grandchildren, they brought so much joy to her.
Visitation for Marsha will be held on Friday, August 22nd from noon -2:00pm ET at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home 524 Broadway St. Vincennes, IN. The funeral service will follow visitation at 2pm. Graveside Burial service will follow on Saturday August 23rd at Clover Hill in Harrodsburg, IN at noon. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to One-Foundation Church of Wheatland, IN. Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the care of Marsha.
