Dr. Marshall Mesaros of Commerce Township passed away unexpectedly on June 27, 2025. He leaves behind wife Bonny and daughters Melanie and Lauren. Bonny and Marshall were married for 52 years.
Born on February 23, 1946 in Dearborn, he attended Southfield High School and went on to attend undergraduate and dental school at the University of Detroit. He practiced dentistry for over 40 years, which included running his own practice in Farmington Hills for the majority of his career. He earned an additional master's degree in oral biology from the Medical College of Ohio at Toledo. He was also a life long member of the Oakland County, Michigan and American Dental Associations.
Marshall served on the board of directors (first vice president) for the Commerce Township Area Historical Society in the 1980s. A naturalist and accomplished photographer, he spent his free time capturing local wildlife, landscapes, and other aspects of our natural world. Living near Proud Lake, many of his images focused on details unique to the local area.
He had a passion for cars and enjoyed photographing sports cars and downtown Detroit scenes, especially Corvettes, muscle cars, and Detroit culture. A supporter of the arts, Marshall also enjoyed painting and writing.
A celebration of life to honor his memory will be forthcoming.

Dr. Mesaros was a wonderful and devoted dentist. I worked for Dr. Metler for 30 years and I always enjoyed when he would come in and visit with me. My thoughts and prayers are with Bonnie and his family during this difficult time. I will always remember him fondly. Jane
