Marshel Nicley – age 78 of Washburn, passed away peacefully at home on February 23, 2025 with his family by his side. He was saved as a teen and was of the Baptist faith.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Luke and Rosie Nicley; brothers, C. H. and Herb Nicley; sisters, Jenny and Martha Nicley and Annette Williams. Marshel is survived by loving wife of 55 years Brenda Nicley; son, Ray Nicley; daughter, Lisa (Doyle) Nicely; grandchildren, Tyler (Brittany) Nicley, Mackenzie (Tyler) Anderson, Jason (Lindsay) Nicley; great grandchildren, Jackson, Coleben, and Jacelyn Nicley and Wrenleigh Seiber; brothers, Leroy (Jill) Nicley, Rob (Helen) Nicley, Elbert (Glenda) Nicley, Jerry (Pat) Nicley; sister, Mary Nicley; and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to express their thanks to Covenant Home Care Services and Hospice for their special care.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 25, 2025 in the Trinity Funeral Home Chapel. Marshel will lie in state Wednesday, February 25, 2025 from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. at Dutch Valley Baptist Church. The funeral to follow with Reverend Leon Nicely and Reverend Jimmy Frye officiating. Immediately following funeral a graveside will be held at Nicley Harrell Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers, Ray Nicley, Tyler Nicley, Jason Nicley, Tyler Anderson, Donald Nicley and Jeff Davis; honorary pallbearers, Bruce Williams, Benny Duncan, Jimmy Hatchard, Charley Martin, Larry Shipley, Doyle Nicely, Jackson Nicley, Coleben Nicley, Luke Davis and Brandon Knight.
