Marta Garibay Flores

Marta Garibay Flores, 72, entered eternal rest on July 13, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Harlingen on February 8, 1953, to Natividad and Francisca Garibay.
Marta retired with 35 years of experience as an educator and continued to be a constant source of wisdom to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. For 51 years, she consistently educated herself with life lessons so that she could pass them on with love and intention to her two loving sons and precious daughter.
She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Tomas Flores. And her two children, Tom M. (Blanca), and her only daughter Monica (Javier).
A proud and loving grandmother, she leaves behind seven grandchildren, Thomas Aaron, Brandon Ian, Shawn Ryan (Ecclesia), Cynthia Cristene (Adrian), Caleb Adam (Valerie), Jesse Rey and Kayla Nicole (Jorge), and five great - grandchildren, Zailyn, Zariah, Zakary, Sophia, and Mateo.
She is also lovingly remembered by her siblings: Rolando Garibay (Sulema +), Diana De La Cruz (Chemo), Edna Garibay (Pete), and Bonnie Garibay (Tino), and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, San Juanita Casillas, Minvera Garibay, Anna Maria Garibay, one brother, Natividad Garibay Jr., and her beloved son Gabriel Flores.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 18, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at the Rudy Garza Chapel of Angels in Harlingen, Texas. The funeral will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2025, with a 2:00 pm chapel service with Pastor Eli as officiant. The burial will follow at Ashland Memorial Park Cemetery in Harlingen, Texas.
Pallbearers will be Thomas Aaron Flores, Brandon Ian Flores, Caleb Adam Garcia, Jesse Ray Martinez, Adrian Garza, and Javier Quiroz.
She was a daughter, a sister, a wife, a loving mother, a loving Grandmother, and a loving great-grandmother. She will be deeply missed and remembered by all who knew her and loved her.
