Mrs. Martha Combs Absher, age 50, passed away Monday, April 7, 2025, at Alleghany Health. Martha was born May 9, 1974, in Wilkes County to Glen Benford Combs and Thelma Johnson Combs.
Her family and animals were her life; her love for grandbabies and family was immeasurable. Her sisters, Helen, Hilda, and Frances, raised Martha as if she were their child. They were the best sisters anyone could ever hope for. Martha loved all animals, and being a dog groomer, she spent her career grooming and loving animals.
Martha was a member of Rachel Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Benny, Timmy, Ricky, and David Combs, and sister, Joann Combs.
Martha's passing leaves a void in our hearts, but her spirit lives on in the strength and unity of her surviving family members. Her husband, Silas Absher, Jr. of Roaring River; sons, Zachary (Lacey) Absher of Hays and Eric (Jessica) Absher of North Wilkesboro; daughter, Amy ( KiKi) Bouchelle of Roaring River; sisters, Helen ( Floyd) Payne of North Wilkesboro, Hilda (Karl) Stevenson of Roaring River and Frances Combs of Elkin; and her beloved grandchildren, Preston, Waylon, Kinsley, Jameson, Kollyns Bouchelle, Karlie, Silas, Oakleigh and Ridge Absher.
A funeral service will be held Friday, April 11, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel, with Rev. Kenny Absher and Rev. Brian Wiles officiating. Interment will follow at Rachel Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
The family would like to thank special friends, Monica Foster and Janel Sparks.
