Martha Briody Obituary
Martha was a Registered Nurse and retired from St. Mary's Hospital in 1987. She was the head nurse at the first Cardiac Unit at St. Mary's Hospital. Martha was a member of the St. Mary's Alumni group and was a member at St. Benedict Church. She was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals.
Martha is survived by her daughter, Patricia A. Hunter; son, Gary A. (Barbara) Briody; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Martha was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Robert F. Briody; son, Michael K. Briody; daughter, Peggy Jo Briody; brother, James Schaefer; and sisters, Sara Lensing and Mary Jo VanLandingham.
Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thursday, February 6, 2025 at Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel, 800 S. Hebron Ave., Evansville with a graveside service at 2:00 p.m. at St. Joseph Mausoleum with Father Alex Zenthoefer officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Vanderburgh Humane Society, P.O. Box 6711, Evansville, IN 47719-6711.

Martha was such a classy lady! I remember visiting with her as a child with my Aunt Peggy . ( my godmother) reconnected in 2012 when Peggy asked if I could help them in their home!! Martha and I solved many of the world's problems in her living room!! She was an amazing person!!
