Martha Ann Brown Henry

Mrs. Martha Ann Brown Henry age 88, of Toccoa passed away Saturday, March 23, 2024 at The Oaks – Scenic View in Baldwin, GA.
Born on November 23, 1935 in Toccoa, she was the daughter of the late William Taft and Lena Bell Verner Brown.
Ann grew up in Toccoa. She was a Toccoa High School cheerleader and majorette, as well as the first Homecoming Queen of Toccoa High School. She attended Georgia State College for Women in Milledgeville and was a 1958 graduate of Piedmont College in Demorest, GA. Her love for children led her to become an elementary school teacher. She taught in Stephens County at Big A and Eastanollee Elementary Schools. Ann was a member of the First Baptist Church of Toccoa for many years, and later attended the Toccoa Presbyterian Church when she returned to Toccoa after residing in the Atlanta area.
Family was always so important to Ann. Surviving family members include her three children, Jeffrey White of Fayetteville, GA, Scott Henry (Beth) of Charlotte, NC, and Lenalisa Henry Collins (Brian) of Clarkesville, GA; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Nancy Cash White.
The family will receive friends at the mortuary from 12pm – 1pm on Monday, March 25, 2024.
A private graveside service will follow with the Rev. Bradley Collins officiating.
The family expresses special thanks to Donna Hanley and Pruitt Health Hospice staff, along with the staff of The Oaks at Scenic View and Pruitt Health Toccoa for the loving and compassionate care they provided to Ann.
