Martha Allen Carr, 94, Born May 19,1930, in Sunflower Mississippi. The daughter of William Allen and Elizabeth (Lizzie) Harrison Allen.
Our loving mother and grandmother peacefully passed away in the comfort of her home. Surrounded by her family and friends, Nov 17, 2024. Arriving to Erie, pa, she worked at Hamot hospital, in the house keeping department. She was also employed at Continental
Rubber Work. And then she retired from Saint Vincent Health Care Ctr.
She enjoyed cooking soul food, some of her favorite dishes to cook were chicken and dressing as well as sweet potato pie. She enjoyed going to the casino, scratching lottery tickets and playing lottery numbers. She had a notebook that she would put her numbers in and make
many combinations. She enjoyed company, sitting with family and friends telling stories and cracking jokes. She should've been a comedian. She especially enjoyed telling stories of her and her sister Debra.
Martha enjoyed all of her grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren which was an extreme blessing to her.
She leaves to cherish her memories two daughters, Gearldene Twillie (Will) Erie, Pa. Phyllis R. Carr, Erie, Pa. grandchildren, Cedric C. Carr (Angelica) San Antonio Texas, Meghan Overton, Erie, Pa Chatiqua Keyes- Carr, Erie, Pa. Great grandchildren, Elijah Harris, Dejaniq
Overton, Jzawan Overton, Damari Overton, Cedric P. Carr, Chimere Pullium, Rome-Marie Carr.
Great Great Grandchildren, Trejure Harris, Laila Harris, Anylaa Flores Overton, Nycari Overton. Three sisters, Debra Young, Venice Illinois, Sarah Fry, Kansas City, Mo, Inell Davis, Kansas City, Mo.
A Host of nieces, nephews, cousins. Two Sister- in- laws, Ruby Carr, Erie, Pa, Luella Carr, Erie, Pa. A host of other relatives and friends. Lee Mark, Kansas City, Mo. Melinda McCullum Erie, pa, Pete Steward Erie, Pa. Rhea Tate Erie Pa.
She was preceded in death by husband George C. Carr. Parents, William Sr and Lizzie Allen. Four brothers, Samuel Allen, Thomas William-Allen, John Henry Allen Sr, Paul Allen. Four sisters, Teresa Tibbs, Inez Arthur, Edna Newsome and Asalee Hunter.
The family would like to express special thanks to a very special angel Meghan (Granddaughter) and Dejaniq, Elijah, Jzawan and Phyllis. A very special thank you to Pete, Emily Williams Hospice Nurse and Leslie of VNA Hospice.
A public viewing will be held at Victory Christian Center 1129 Pennsylvania Avenue, Erie Pa 16503 on Saturday, November 23, 2024 from 11:00 Am until the celebration of life service at 1:00 Pm with Bishop Dwane Brock, Eulogizing. Interment will be held at Lakeside Cemetery,
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to House of Paradise Cremation and Funeral Services Inc.
