Newcomer Funeral Home - West Metro ChapelMartha Christine Castillo was the greatest wife, mother, grandma (grams), daughter, sister, aunt & friend.
She passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 7th, 2025.
She was born in her beloved Cañon, Taos, New Mexico to Fernando and Mary Anglada on January 25th 1934.
She moved to Denver, Colorado in the 1940’s and resided on 9th Street in the Auraria neighborhood.
At the age of 16 she moved to Sidney, Nebraska to work at the Sioux Army Depot where she met her hon, Robert Castillo. They married in 1953 and moved to Denver - returning to the Auraria neighborhood before being displaced. They then bought their home near Sloan’s Lake where they raised their family and lived happily together for over 67 years.
She loved with her whole heart, and if you were lucky enough to know her, you couldn’t help but love her back. She poured herself into people… she gave, she fed, she encouraged, she loved deeply, she forgave, she protected, and she always, always prayed. She was confident in what she liked, and what she did not. She enjoyed ice cream cones from Baskin Robbin’s - never straying from vanilla, sugar cone, one scoop. Spring was her favorite season as she enjoyed watching life return to her garden she lovingly tended to. Her favorite flowers were tulips and white or baby pink roses, often with baby’s breath. She was classy, always put together, faithful, and kind.
She is preceded in death by: her husband, Robert Castillo, her son Jerry Castillo, her grandson Jerry Jr., her parents Fernando and Mary Anglada, siblings, Roger Anglada, Orlando Anglada, Elaine Martinez, Toby Anglada, Lico Anglada, Shirley Arguello, Tom Anglada and Fernando (Sonny) Anglada, Jr.
She is survived by her siblings: Anita Torrez and Robert Anglada. Special in-laws, Nick Arguello, Donna Anglada and the Castillo family.
Children: Debra Tucker, Larry Castillo (Lorraine), Loretta Castillo Molet (Martin), Kimberly Martinez (Steve), De’Ann Fitzpatrick (Sheldon).
Grandchildren: Kara Lopez, Stevie Martinez, Damara Dickerson (Gary), Cheasare Avila (Daniela), Sean Martinez (Valerie), Ariel Avila (Sara), Ashley Hanon (Michael), Chelsea Mares (Paul “Tony”), Lauren Manriquez-Luna (Ismael), Marquis Fitzpatrick, Brea Correa (Mikey), Haleigh Manriquez-Luna (Luis), Ivana Molet, Mason Castillo and Canaan Fitzpatrick. 22 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
