Martha Christine Connell

Mrs. Martha Christine Connell, 100, of Anniston, left this world to be with her Lord and Savior on October 5, 2025. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at K.L. Brown Memory Chapel in Golden Springs, with Dr. Roland P. Brown and Reverend Tim Schultz officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Forestlawn Gardens.
Martha was a faithful member of Golden Springs Baptist Church for over 40 years until her deteriorating health prevented her from attending. Martha was blessed with good health into her early 90s and enjoyed working in her yard and flower gardening. She was also an excellent cook and homemaker. Martha was born and raised on a farm near Waco, GA. She grew up without the modern conveniences we take for granted today and learned the value of hard work on the farm. She carried this work ethic throughout her life. Martha resided in Anniston her entire adult life until she had to relocate to Cleburne County Nursing Home where she received excellent care for the past three years.
Martha is preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years, Ed Connell; a great-grandson, Thomas Connell; sisters, Imogene Wright, Myrlean Styles, and Margaret Williams; and brothers, Ishmael Williams and Horace Williams.
Survivors include her son, Nathan Connell and his wife, Wendy; grandchildren, Jocelyn Evans and her husband, Billy, Brandon Connell and his wife, Krista, and Joshua Connell and his wife, Stephani; six great-grandchildren; and sisters, Annette Edwards and Lillian Carroll. Martha also had many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly, and they affectionately called her Aunt Mot.
Pallbearers will be Donny Connell, Steve Connell, Tim Edwards, Leland Styles, Allen Robinson, and Jason Robinson.
The family would like to thank and recognize Dr. David Chalk and Southern Care New Beacon Hospice for the excellence and attentiveness to Martha's needs.
