Martha Daugherty Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Holden Cremation & Funeral Service - Sparta on Oct. 26, 2024.
Martha Kay Daugherty, a beacon of unwavering positivity and a true inspiration to all who knew her, embarked on her final journey on October 16, 2024, in Springfield, Missouri. Born on January 4, 1955, in the serene town of Mountain Home, Arkansas, Martha's life was a testament to the power of optimism and the strength of the human spirit.
Martha's early years in Arkansas laid the foundation for a life marked by compassion, learning, and an unquenchable thirst for knowledge. She carried this love for education with her to San Diego Christian College, where she excelled academically.
Throughout her life, Martha channeled her energy into uplifting others. Her radiant smile and encouraging words were a source of comfort and motivation. She had the extraordinary ability to see potential in everyone and worked to help others recognize their own worth and capabilities.
Family was the cornerstone of Martha's existence. She was the cherished daughter of Wayne and Susan Snodgrass, and a beloved sister to Elaine Spikes and Rebecca Metcalfe as well as brothers Sam Snodgrass and David Snodgrass. Martha's relationships with her family were steeped in love, mutual respect, and an endless supply of joyous moments. She and her husband Robert Daugherty are both survived by four sons Josiah Daugherty, Joel Daugherty, Javan Daugherty, and John Daugherty.
Martha's legacy is one of enduring hope and relentless positivity. Her life was a vivid tapestry woven with threads of kindness, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to making a difference in the world.
As we honor the remarkable life of Martha Kay Daugherty, let us carry forward her indomitable spirit. She taught us that life is not about the challenges we face but how we choose to respond to them. Martha's memory will continue to guide and inspire us, reminding us to live each day with purpose, grace, and a heart full of love.

Martha was one of the dearest Christian sisters I ever had. I knew her from Christian Heritage College in 1975-76. We kept in close contact many years. I hope someone from the family will contact me so that I can pass on more information of her life. Jonathan Rund (847-917-1175)

When I was getting married, the night before she patiently gave me a relaxing back rub! Also she was one of my Brisesmaids and she sang at our wedding!

She was the oldest sister in the family. The sisters all slept in the same room and the many fun things we would do instead of going to sleep!
