In loving memory of Martha Ann Dickens, born on December 10, 1941, in Ozark, Missouri to Paul Price and Lessie E. (Turner) Houston. She peacefully passed away on September 19, 2024, surrounded by loved ones in the Manor at Elfindale in Springfield, Missouri. Martha was a devoted daughter, loving wife to Ronald Dean Dickens, and a nurturing mother to her children Carla, Jonnie, Ron, and Brian. Martha leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter that will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Growing up in a bustling family with three brothers and two sisters, Martha learned the value of companionship and family bonds. After graduating from Central High School, she embarked on a journey of motherhood and love. Martha found her soulmate, Ronald Dean Dickens, at Lily Tulip and tied the knot on July 21, 1985. Together, they experienced countless adventures and built a lifetime of cherished memories.
Known for her impeccable sense of style and penchant for the finer things in life, Martha's love for fashionable shoes was unmatched. Her passion for gardening brought beauty and vibrancy to every corner of their home where she lovingly planted flowers beside Dean's newest garden creations. Martha also had a soft spot for casino games, she was fondly known to her loved ones as "Casino Queen" she found joy in playing slot machines and KENO tickets.
She was greeted into heaven by her parents, two brothers, Donnie and Billy Houston, and her beloved husband Ronald Dean Dickens.
She leaves behind four cherished children and their spouses, Carla and Billy Peck, Jonnie and Angela West, Ron and Kristie Dickens, and Brian Dickens, her seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren, her siblings, Bobby Houston, Mary Vinyard, and Judy Eddington, and well as numerous nephews, nieces, other family members and friends.
As we celebrate Martha's remarkable life, we invite all who knew her to join us in honoring her memory. Visitation will be held at Greenlawn Funeral Home North on September 25, 2024, at 6:00-8:00 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at Greenlawn Funeral Home North on September 26, 2024, at 1:00 pm, followed by the burial at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Let us come together to reminisce, share stories, and bid farewell to our beloved Martha Ann Dickens, a woman whose spirit will forever glow in our hearts. May her journey to eternal peace be as vibrant and radiant as the flowers she so adored.
