Martha A. Hundley, 96, of Middletown, passed away peacefully on November 29, 2025. She was born on November 15, 1929, in Anderson, IN, to the late Jona and Laura (Sparks) Scott.
A proud graduate of Markleville High School in 1948, Martha began her working journey at Delco Remy, devoting 42 years to the company. It was here that she met the love of her life, Robert. Their paths intertwined at work, and a beautiful love story blossomed into marriage in 1954. Together, they cultivated a life of love and partnership, cherishing each other for 38 beautifully shared years until Robert's passing.
Martha was not just defined by her career; she was a beacon of warmth and kindness to everyone around her. She cherished her family and had a special connection with her dog Maggie and cat ChiChi. A longtime master gardener, she found immense joy not just in nurturing plants but in the beauty they brought to the world. She had a passion for bowling, where she not only honed her skills but also made lasting memories in senior leagues. Martha also loved to paint, embracing all styles and finding tranquility in each stroke that brought her canvas to life.
Martha relished moments spent crocheting, especially doilies. She also enjoyed solving puzzles with her mind dancing through challenges with ease and grace. Lovingly recalling her early years, Martha often reminisced about traveling, particularly to Coldwater, Michigan, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and Dale Hollow Lake, Kentucky, where many great memories were made.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Debby Day, Jill (Eric) Eisenberg, and Daryl (Tina) Hundley; grandchildren, Keith Butler, Brian Butler, Madison (Kyle) Macki, Jenna (Wess) Harleman, Scott (Amy) Day, and Stacey (John) Lavy; and several great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Martha was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert Hundley; daughter, Susan Butler; siblings, Loran Scott, Roberta (Bill) Barker, and two infant brothers.
Services will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home in Middletown with Mark Herbkersman officiating.
