Penny Lohrey, 73, of Middletown passed away on Saturday November 8, 2025 at Community Hospital in Anderson. She was born on April 7, 1952 in Anderson to the late Loren and Mearle (Jenkins) Stanley.
A 1970 graduate of Shenandoah High School, Penny was well known in the Middletown Community. She worked at Harvest Market for several years, First Merchants Bank and The Middletown Utilities for 24 years before retiring in 2022. Penny loved life and found the positive in everything. She enjoyed spending time with her husband Mark, treasure hunting for antiques, attending church and loved her animals. Penny’s greatest joy in life was her children and especially her grand and great grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by so many that knew and loved her.
Penny is survived by her husband, Mark Lohrey; children, Tonya (Korey) Graddy, Chris (Kelly) Jackson, Amanda (Derek) Agee, Dylan (Brooke) Lohrey and Katie (Shawn) Beaty; grandchildren, Kiana, Wyatt, Skyeler, Shayann, Sylias, Case, Hailey, Hunter, Mackenzee, Addison, Mason, Madalynn and Kylie; several great grandchildren; siblings, Donna (Tony) Daniel, twin sister Patsy Dellinger, Joyce (Brad) Vaught and Bob (Dawn) Stanley; along with several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents Penny is preceded in death by her first husband, Paul Jackson; sister, Barb Stanley; In-laws, George and Barb Lohrey; Brother-in-law, Dana Lohrey.
Services will be on Friday November 14, 2025 at 11:00 am at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home in Middletown with Pastor Tim Glidden officiating. Burial will follow at Miller Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday November 13, 2025 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the Funeral Home.
