Martha Kozik

Martha J. (Sautter) Kozik, age 92, of Galion passed away, Monday December 1, 2025, at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital.
Born July 20, 1933 in Galion, she was the daughter of the late George F. "Fred" and Ivah F. (Ross) Sautter. She married Benjamin "Ben" E. Kozik on December 26, 1951, and he preceded her in death on February 10, 1980.
She was a 1951 graduate of Galion High School. She worked as a legal secretary for 59 years for Petri, Hottenroth and Garverick and then Petri, Hottenroth, Garverick and Tilson. She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church where she served as assistant treasurer, taught Sunday School and served on council. She was a trustee at Lowe Volk Park and a member of the board at the Galion Golden Age Center and also the Cooperative Christian Food Pantry. She was a den mother for Cub Scouts and also helped with the Girl Scouts. She was a member of the Friendly 8 Euchre Club since 1952 and enjoyed gardening, canning, riding her 4 wheeler and many outdoor activities.
She is survived by her three children: Karl (Heather Gehrisch) Kozik, Karlene (Jeff) Gregory and Krista Kozik, two granddaughters Samantha Tanner and Alexis Tanner, five great-grandchildren: James McCoy, Thomas McCoy, Raelee Cox, Colton Burkhart and Aden Heydinger and her sister Juanita Dye.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister Ida Geiher.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM Saturday December 6, 2025 at Richardson Davis Chapel of Snyder Funeral Homes, 218 South Market St., Galion, Ohio 44833 where services will follow at 2:00 PM with Pastor Joe Stafford officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the tree program at Lowe Volk Park or the Galion Golden Age Center.
