Martha Ann Overman

Martha Ann (Rucker) Overman passed away peacefully on November 4, 2025 after a short journey with kidney failure.
Martha was born on May 2, 1936 in Little Rock, Arkansas to Wilbur and Eva (Howard) Rucker. She was the fifth of seven siblings. Martha married Bill Overman on July 4, 1954 in National City, California. They embarked for the next 18 years as a Navy family with frequent moves and assignments before settling in Yreka, where they have lived for the past 53 years, raising their three sons, Robert, Kenneth, and Glen.
Martha was active in her faith in Jesus Christ, and was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her testimony of Christ was a strength for her family. Her life can be encapsulated by the five "F" words: family, friends, faith, food, and fun. Martha will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and support. She cherished her many friendships that she developed in every stage of her life, and will be remembered for a life well lived and an enduring faith until the end. She had a sure knowledge of returning to Jesus to live forever with family and friends in Christ's love.
Martha's love and laughter will live on in our hearts forever.
Martha was preceded in death by her husband, Bill, who passed away in 2014, and a son, Kenneth, who passed away in 2021.
She is survived by her sons, Robert and Glen, and by 7 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great-grandchildren, and by many nieces and nephews.
A graveside funeral service will be held for Martha on Friday, December 5, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. in the family plot at Evergreen Cemetery in Yreka.
