Funeral services for Mrs. Martha Jane Sharp will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at St. Matthew Baptist Church, Oakdale, with Reverends Dean Gunter and Keith Gunter officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Cemetery, Glenmora, under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Oakdale.
Mrs. Sharp, 79, of Glenmora, entered eternal rest on Sunday, January 12, 2025, in her residence surrounded by her loving family.
Martha was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a member of Yancy Road Baptist Church. She loved crafting, painting, gardening, and working in her flower beds. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by one son, Chuck Sharp; her parents, John and Janet Roberts; her stepfather, James Shell; one brother, Larry Roberts; and two sisters, Betty Helm and Barbara Handy.
Those left to mourn her loss and cherish her memory include her loving husband of sixty-two years, Willie Sharp of Glenmora; one son, Jay Sharp (Sherry) of Cleveland, Texas; four daughters, Lori Hayes (Marvin) of Clinton, Kathi Davis (Steve) of Florien, Jackie Sharp of Central, and Vickie Sharp (Dawn) of Lacombe; two brothers, Mike Roberts and Geronimo Shell; four sisters, Linda Quintanilla, Terry Jenkins, Heidi Shell, and Annette Smith; fifteen grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
A time of visitation will be held at St. Matthew Baptist Church, Oakdale, on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. Visitation will resume at the church on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
Pallbearers honored to serve are: Jonathan Hayes, Cody Hayes, Joshua Davis, Clark Davis, Jamie Sharp, and Joey Sharp. Honorary pallbearers will be Zachary Davis, Austin Bihm, Waylon Hayes, Braylon Mouton, and Hannah Sharp.
