In Loving Memory
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, auntie, and friend. She peacefully departed on December 23rd, 2025, at the age of 84.
Born on August 10, 1941, in Alien, Ark and grew up with a passion for God, family, thrift store shopping, crocheting and sending inspirational letters to her loved ones. Throughout her life, she was known for her kindness, generosity, and unwavering commitment to God and family.
Martha Carolyn Smith, known as “Carolyn” is survived by her daughter Cynthia Rene Douglas of Lakewood, CA; her grandson and partner, Sean Douglas and Madison Bailey of Broken Arrow, OK, now residing in Lakewood, CA; four great grandchildren, Carson, Kennedy, Reagan and Lincoln; four brothers and their wives; Kenneth and Joyce Owens of Lakewood, CA; Ronnie and Diane Owens of Siloam Springs, AR; JD and Brandy Owens of Siloam Springs, AR and Vernon and Latrinda Owens of Siloam Springs, AR; one sister, Sherron Lewis of Porterville, CA and many nieces and nephews. Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband Donald Smith of 48 years; her mother, Ola Faye Owens; father, Chester Owens; stepmother Laura Sue Owens; brother Donald Ray Owens; nephew, Donnie Owens and sister-in-law, Doris Owens.
Always a source of strength and inspiration, Carolyn will be remembered for her warm smile, endless care for others, and boundless compassion. She left an indelible mark on all who knew her, and her legacy will live on in the hearts of everyone whose life she touched.
A celebration of Carolyn’s life will be held on January 30, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm at Luyben Dilday Mortuary in Long Beach, CA. Family and friends are invited to gather, share memories, and honor a significant life.
May Carolyn, at last, rest in eternal peace. Her memory will forever be cherished.
