Martha Snider Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Messinger Mortuaries- Indian School Mortuary on Dec. 30, 2025.
Martha Luella (Cook) Snider was born December 23, 1929, in Columbus, Ohio. She married her high school sweetheart, Don Richard Snider, a year after they graduated when both were still 19 years old. After 71 amazing years of marriage, Don died in 2020 and Martha lived with relatives until moving into a Hospice facility in 2023, where she passed away on December 28, 2025, five days after her 96th birthday.
As a homemaker, Martha began her "career" as a mother with the birth of her first son, Robert, on May 27, 1952. Her other survivors include William and Bonita, as well as Robert's wife Linda, William's wife Haydee and Bonita's husband Jim. Martha and Don also had a hand in raising Bonita's three daughters, Nicole, Michelle, and Miranda. She's also survived by three great-grandchildren, Kali, Mara, and Danica, all Michelle's, and a sister Betty and brother-in-law Jack.
Don and Martha built a cabin in Overgaard, Arizona, where they spent weekends, and she loved making ultra-creative costumes for Halloween parties. She showed her artistic ability in painting and enjoyed cooking large meals for special occasions.
Martha worked several jobs in support of Don, who spent most of his life in the grocery business, much of it when he was known as "The Pickle Man." Late in life she worked cleaning people's houses until her family urged her to stop in her 80's. She enjoyed sitting with Don at Arizona State University sporting events, especially men's and women's basketball, baseball and softball, and often attended Valley Athletic Booster Club luncheons where she had a knack for winning raffle prizes.
Visitation for Martha will begin at 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 3, at Messenger's Mortuary, with services following at 4:30 p.m. Internment with Don, only for family members, will be Sunday at Paradise Memorial Gardens.
