Martha A. (Adams) Staub, age 76, of McSherrystown, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on May 29, 2025. She was the loving wife of James G. Staub; together they shared 53 years of marriage.
Martha was born in Hanover, PA on March 3, 1949 and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Kathrine (Hemler) Adams. She worked as a registered nurse for over 50 years, initially at Hanover Hospital and then at a private practice. Her favorite pastime was cooking, and she cherished time with her family, especially the weekly family dinners on Sundays and on holidays. Martha especially loved her grandchildren and was extremely proud of all their endeavors and academic achievements. Martha regularly attended her grandchildren's sporting events and rarely missed an opportunity to cheer them on throughout their grade school and high school activities including football games, basketball games, soccer games, baseball games, softball games, tennis matches, cross-country meets, and golf.
Martha also enjoyed taking trips with her family including trips to Disney World, but her favorite vacation of all was their summer trip to the shore at Ocean City, MD. She also enjoyed going to the casino, especially in Las Vegas and Biloxi, MS. Martha met so many people on these trips who have become her lifelong friends.
Martha was a devout Catholic, a parishioner of Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in McSherrystown, and a weekly adorer at the Adams County Deanery Adoration Chapel in McSherrystown since its founding in 1999.
In addition to her loving husband Jim, Martha is survived by her daughters Julie L. Deal and husband Brian and Jenny M. Rosensteel and husband Dan; her grandchildren Tyler, Jeremy, Logan, Kadence, and Kaylee; and her sisters Odelia Hilbert and husband William and Kathleen Adams. She is also survived by a large extended family including inlaws, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Martha's Memorial Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, June 5, 2025 at 11:00AM at Annunciation B.V.M. Catholic Church, 26 N. Third St., McSherrystown, PA 17344 with Rev. Richard Lyons as celebrant. Interment will be private. The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday from 10:30AM – 11:00AM prior to the Mass at Annunciation B.V.M. Church.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Martha's memory may be made to Annunciation B.V.M. Catholic Church, 26 N. Third St., McSherrystown, PA 17344.

I´m so sorry, Jim for your loss! Martha and I went through 12 years of school together. I saw you and her at mass at St Joseph´s not too long ago. Wish I would have had a chance to talk to her! May she rest in peace!
