Martha Louise "Lou" Tyree

Martha Louise "Lou" (Gay) Tyree, 77, of Scottsburg, Indiana passed away on December 4, 2025, at her home with her family by her side. She was born on February 14, 1948, in Austin, Indiana, to the late Roy Gay and Alpha (Napier) Gay. Martha Lou dedicated her life to her family and her work, embodying the spirit of love and hard work that defined her. where her commitment and tenacity were admired by all who knew her. Martha Lou is preceded in death by her parents; four sisters, Gladys Roberts, Mary Ruth Berna, Penny Ann Ivy, and Nora Winters; and one brother, Arnold Gay. She is survived by one son, Tony (Laurie) Combs; one daughter, Crystal (Jeremy Scott) Kruger; siblings, Rosetta Hammond, Nannie Jean Mull, Lillie Sue (Carl) Stidham, Judy (Gordon) England, Henry Gay, Leroy Gay, and Eva Marie (Richard) Eldridge; six grandchildren, Michelle Westbrooke, Justin Lee (Brenda Ruthford) Combs, Sarah Jane Combs, Joseph Alex (Caitlin) Kruger, Nathan Everin Kruger, and Jesse Lee Kruger; seven great grandchildren, Paityn Grace Kruger, Paislee Gabriella Kruger, Lainey Mae Kruger, Joseph James Kruger, Gabriella Mae Kruger, William Lee Kruger, and Keara Diehl. In the words of her loved ones, Martha Lou taught us the value of hard work, and the importance of family and faith in the Lord. Funeral service for Martha Lou will be held on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at 1:00 pm at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana. Visitation will be on Monday, December 8, 2025, from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at Collins Funeral Home and prior to the service on Tuesday starting at 11:00am to 1:00pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Scottsburg Cemetery in Scottsburg, Indiana. Memorial donations can be made in Martha's name to the family to assist with funeral expenses in c/o Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana.
