Martin "Marty" Baker died peacefully at Norton Brownsboro Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky, on August 6, 2022, with his family by his side, at the age of 80 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Katherine and Lewis Baker. Marty is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Shari Baker, and lovingly remembered by son, Buddy Baker; daughter, Kim Frey (KC); sister, Judy Borinstein (Ron); grandchildren, Shawn Baker, Drew Frey, and Kate Frey; and great-granddaughter, Norah Baker.

Marty spent his whole career at Sears, beginning in Louisville, KY, and retiring in Chicago, IL in 1995. He then moved back home to Louisville in 1997. Marty enjoyed playing racquetball and backgammon and keeping up with sports (specifically University of Kentucky Athletics). He also loved spending time with his grandchildren. Marty will be remembered for his intelligence, sense of humor, and kind heart.

As he would often remind those closest to him, we will "love you forever."

If you would like, please send donations in his memory to The Sonny & Janet Meyer Family Food Pantry, 2821 Klempner Way Louisville, KY 40205, or a charity of your choice.

A memorial gathering will be held at 7 p.m. on Monday, August 8, 2022 at 7210 Edmonson Place, Prospect, KY 40059.

Goodbye old friend. I'll miss our get together in Buffalo Grove Illinois, sharing a movie night (during a blizzard) during a guys night out (only 2 in the theater to see Passenger 57 until the projection camera broke (theater staff forgot us in the dark theater), and a weekend trip with our girls to Iowa riverboat gambling.
