Martin Duenas, a vibrant soul known for his contagious laughter and unwavering love for his family and friends, passed away on April 8, 2025, in
Andrews, Texas. Born on November 2, 1962, in Asientos Aguascalientes, Mexico, Martin's journey of 62 years was marked by an abundance of love, dedication, and cherished memories that will be held close to the hearts of all who knew him.
Martin grew up in a close-knit family, surrounded by the love and warmth of his mother, Socorro Gallegos, of Plainview, Texas, and his father, Antonio Gallegos, with whom he is now reunited, along with his grandparents. The bond he shared with his siblings was one of deep affection and camaraderie; Ezequiel, Francisco and his wife Maria, Lupe and her husband Ismael, Antonia and her husband Alfredo, Maria and her husband Juan Luna, Herminia and her husband Clayton, and Alejandra will continue to honor Martin's legacy through their lives. Martin's spirit will also live on through the laughter and stories of his numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving family members.
Martin's early life in Plainview, Texas, was filled with the joys of youth and the pride of academic achievement. A proud graduate of Plainview High School, class of 1981, he cherished the memories of his time spent in woodshop class and at sporting events. His passion for learning and his school spirit remained a part of him throughout his life.
Martin's work ethic was as strong as his sense of community. For many years, he dedicated himself to Bradley's Oilfield Services, where he was respected for his hard work and commitment. Martin's faith played an integral part in his life; he was a devout Catholic and a devoted member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in
Andrews, Texas. His involvement with the Knights of Columbus demonstrated his commitment to service and fellowship.
A true sports enthusiast, Martin's love for the Dallas Cowboys was unmatched. He never missed a game and was a dedicated fan through thick and thin. His passion extended beyond professional football to college and major league sporting events, where he found joy in the spirit of competition and camaraderie.
Martin's personality was magnetic; he was a people person through and through. Friends were never in short supply, as he made them everywhere he went. His laughter was a gift that he shared generously, lighting up every room and warming the hearts of those around him.
In his passing, Martin leaves behind a legacy of love, friendship, and the power of a positive spirit. He taught us to embrace life with enthusiasm and to always find reasons to smile. His absence will be deeply felt, but the memories he created will continue to inspire and comfort those who were fortunate enough to have known him.
A rosary will be on Sunday, April 13, 2025, at McNett Funeral Home at seven o'clock in the evening. Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 14, 2025 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in
Andrews, Texas at ten o'clock in the morning.
