Martin James Hottel, of Fayetteville, joined his Heavenly Father on May 12, 2022, at the age of 25.
Martin is survived by his precious wife, Christie, his infant son, Robert Jay, his identical twin, Victor, his younger brother, Andrew, his sister, Aurora Bailey, his adopted grandparents, Pam Evans White and Ervin White, and his parents, Jay and Laura Hottel.
Martin loved anything and everything fast, and that’s how he lived his life. By age 25, he had accomplished many things. He had graduated from UNC Chapel Hill, written dozens of songs, and spread warmth and cheer to struggling patients in hospital rooms whenever he went. He was ordained as a minister and brought comfort to those who had lost loved ones all while uniting loving hearts in marriage. He loved his family, especially his beautiful wife and son.
To know Martin was to be a part of his love, passion, and his exuberant energy. Martin was a precious soul who lived and loved hard. He accomplished all he could between December 31, 1996, and May 12, 2022.
The family will welcome friends from noon to 1:45pm on Saturday, May 21, 2022, at Fayetteville Community Church. His memorial service will follow at 2pm in the sanctuary, officiated by Pastor Wesley Pritchard.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to his infant son’s Carolina Fund which will be established soon.
Currently, we have two options to support Christie.
1. Checks can be written out to Christie Pippin (please do not write Hottel as her last name is still legally Pippin). In the memo line you can write Robert Jay.

As the journey of life takes a different path may you feel the support of family and friends. You are ALL very amazing people. I love you --- even though some of you I have not met... just because of God's love and the connection to Christie... I know you are amazing.
Peace on the journey...

Martin has always been an amazing person. I remember meeting him when we were maybe 9 or 10 at Elliot´s chapel. Even when we didn´t see each other for years he reached out to me while I was battling Cancer just to talk and pray with me for hours. He is and will always be a wonderful person and a great friend. His light will continue to shine through ever one he´s touched. I thank God for putting him in my life and I pray that God will comfort us all as we go through this difficult time.

I was so saddened to hear of Martins passing. You will forever be remembered for your love of the Lord. Deepest condolences to all those mourning your loss, your wife Christie, baby RJ, your parents, Victor, Andrew and extended family. I will miss your smile and seeing you taking Victor for walks around the neighborhood when you visited your parents. Rest in peace Martin.

Martin James Hottel was a very special young man. He will truly be missed by his wife Christie Pippin Hottel and his sweet son RJ, his father Jay Hottel, his Mother Laura Hottel, his brother Victor Hottel and his brother Andrew Hottel . Grandpam and all of his many other family and friends. Rest in Peace Martin I will miss seeing you sing SO GRANDLY at The Barn this year. I will see you in Heaven one fine day. To Christie I remember too clearly the pain I experienced last September 25th when my own husband Roy David Chason died. I cannot say I know how you feel because I don't but I can say I know my own pain I felt when my husband died. I still am trying to find my way through ALL of my grief. If you ever need to talk please call me. I will send you my number later. Love to you sweetheart.
So sorry for your loss.

I only knew Martin for a short time. As soon as he introduced himself, you knew he was someone special. My heart goes out to his wife, his parents, his brothers, and little R.J. We will understand it better bye and bye.
