Martin "Marty" William Pomes, Sr., 43, of Sulphur passed away in his residence. He was a hard worker all his life, but enjoyed fishing, riding his four-wheeler and barbequing when not working. Martin loved spending time with his grandchildren, visiting friends and on weekends visiting his godchild, Mikhai.
Martin is survived by his wife, Alison Pomes; three children, Amber Dixon, Martin Pomes, Jr. and Summer Pomes all of Sulphur; 4 grandchildren, Conner Borrel, Paisleigh Haines, Alexander Pomes and Liam Dixon all of Sulphur; godchild, Mikhai Borel of Sulphur; 2 brothers, James Bell of Vinton and Wayne Pomes of Iowa; 2 sisters, Deanna Pomes of Vinton and Donna Benoit of Lake Charles; and 2 lifelong friends, Joey Childers and T-Mark Hebert, Jr. both of Sulphur. He was preceded in death by his father, James Pomes; mother, Barbara Pomes; godparents, Emily and Marty Gore; and sister-in-law, Lakesha Dixon.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 6, 2023 at 1 P.M. at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home with Pastor Jay Lawson officiating. Burial will be in Verdine Cemetery under the direction of Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Monday, February 6, 2023 at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until time of the service.
