Marty Lamar Baird, a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on November 10, 2025, in Hull, Georgia. Born on October 7, 1970, in Commerce, Georgia, Marty lived a life dedicated to his craft as a self-employed carpenter, skillfully leaving his mark on the homes and hearts of those he served.
Marty was cherished as a loving spouse to Renea Kitchens Baird and a proud father to his daughters, Mariah (Taylor) Kennedy and Heather (Crystal) Lord, and his step-son, Kirkland Sanders and step-daughters, Jerrica King and Sarah Goodwin. His legacy lives on in the joyful laughter of his three grandchildren, Kingston Lord, Rowan Kennedy and Nathaniel Kennedy, who brought immense pride and happiness to his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Farris O'Dean Baird and Sarah Claudine Echols Baird, whose love and guidance shaped the man he became. Marty is also mourned by the memory of his brother, Randy Baird, and his sisters, Sheila Tanner and Myra Kitchens, who surely remember him fondly.
Marty's hands were callused from years of hard work, but his heart was gentle, filled with love for those around him. He will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. The impact he made on his family and friends will be remembered with warmth and gratitude, as they carry forth his spirit in their lives.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
