Marvin Alexander Obituary Williamsport, MD Marvin Lee Alexander, 86, of Williamsport, MD passed away on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at Doeys House Hagerstown, MD.
Born March 26, 1939, in Middletown, MD. He was the son of the late Mehrl F. and Mary C. (Hutzell) Alexander.
Marvin was a 1957 graduate of Boonsboro High School where he was a 3-sport athlete.
After graduation he proudly served in the U.S. Army in Fort Bliss, El Paso, Texas as a military policeman.
He would later be employed by Mack Truck in Hagerstown, MD retiring in 1995 after 30 years of service.
Marvin was a member of UAW Local #171 Hagerstown, MD and Potomac Post #202 American Legion of Williamsport, MD.
Marvin loved his family and was so proud of them. He was an outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and mushroom hunting. Later in life he loved simple things; country rides and watching wildlife.
He also enjoyed coaching and managing youth baseball teams. He played senior softball until the age of 80.
Marvin is survived by his wife of 63 years Carol A. (Mason) Alexander; daughter Karen D. Kiley (Michael) of Williamsport, MD; son Gary L. Alexander (Kim) of Hagerstown, MD; grandchildren Christopher Kiley, Sarah Kiley, Natalie Alexander, and Emily Alexander; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister Dorlene Marie Slifer.
A memorial service will be held at the Osborne Funeral Home, P.A. 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Thursday, May 1, 2025, at 11:00 am with Pastor Kimberly Nunberg-Wadel officiating. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service on Thursday from 10:00 11:00 am. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park Williamsport, MD. Military honors will be provided.
