Marvin Lee Drowns, 68, of Aledo, Illinois passed away Sunday, March 3, 2024 at his home with family by his side. Cremation rites will be accorded and a celebration of life service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions can be made to the family. Fippinger Funeral Home in Aledo is handling the arrangements.
Marvin was born on January 28, 1956 in Pekin, Illinois the son of Wesley and Lois Pollitt Drowns. Marvin worked for most of his life as a carpenter. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, being in the great outdoors, especially hunting, fishing and camping. Marvin also enjoyed throwing horseshoes and playing euchre.
He is survived by his lifelong partner, Ruth Sutherland of Aledo; 4 children, Will Drowns of Aledo, Shaunna Sutton of Pekin, Jason Drowns of Georgia, Ricky Drowns of Georgia; 4 grandchildren; 3 siblings, David Drowns of Pekin, Jon Drowns of Pekin, Tammy Sundell of Kentucky; and 2 family pets, Boozer and Lucy.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
