Mr. Marvin Eugene Phifer

Marvin Eugene Phifer passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, January 21, 2012 while surrounded by family and friends. Gene will always be remembered in the hearts of all who knew him as a faithful and devoted son, brother and friend, but most of all as the loving and most loved husband, father and grandfather the world has ever known. Gene leaves behind a loving wife of 59 years, Mary Lee Phifer, 2 sons, Larry Phifer and his wife Janie and Tommy Phifer; 3 grandchildren, Mark Phifer, Michael Phifer and Tisha Phifer; 5 great-grandchildren, Jordan Phifer, Alexis Baker, Mylek Baker, Makayla Baker and Mason Phifer; 2 sisters, Ima Jean Ward and Elsie Nelson. Gene will have a blessed life in heaven doing all that he enjoyed most here on earth, his favorite past times of hunting, fishing and telling stories of "the good old days" can now be shared with all those who passed before him. Gene was preceded in death by his mother and father, Thomas Edgar and Clara Mae (Bell) Phifer; 3 brothers, S. Ray Phifer, Thomas Phifer and William Phifer; 2 sisters, Glada Wilcox and Levaughn Powell. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. Services will be held on Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Powell Funeral Home Chapel in Bald Knob.
