Marvin Lee Sitorius, 84, of San Diego, California passed away at his home on April 10th, 2025.
Marvin was born July 7, 1940, in Gothenburg, Nebraska, to Roy and Isla (Jackson) Sitorius. He attended Gothenburg Public Schools, graduating with the Class of 1958. FFA was his favorite club in high school. In 1960, he married Cora Lee Pearson of Gothenburg. Two children were born to this union, Shane and Stacy.
Throughout his life Marvin was an Ag/Shop Teacher, Assistant Director of Agriculture for the State of Nebraska, a real estate/insurance agency owner, as well as a Department of Agriculture Border Patrol Supervisor.
On February 14,1999, he married Lupita Lavallade in San Diego, California. Together they enjoyed 26 years of marriage and enjoyed retirement living in Chula Vista, California. He was an avid Nebraska Cornhusker football fan and was constantly rooting for them each football season!
He had a lifelong passion for agriculture. He was always giving his children and grandchildren 'farming and gardening' advice! He was known for his friendly nature and always loved visiting with people wherever he went. He lived life to the fullest!
Marvin is survived by his wife, Lupita of Chula Vista, California, son, Shane and daughter-in-law (Chris) Sitorius of Bakersfield, California, daughter, Stacy and son-in-law (Monte) Kuxhausen of Rapid City, South Dakota, his grandson, Shafin Sitorius of Bakersfield, California, his granddaughter, Jordan Sitorius of Prague, Czech Republic, a brother, Howard Sitorius, of Phoenix, Arizona, as well as nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, 2 sisters-in-law, a nephew and several close friends.
Upon Marvin's request, he was cremated. His wish was for all who knew him to share 'happy' stories with each other. A Celebration of Life Memorial will take place on a later date.
