Marvin Weber Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Simpson-Modetz Riverside Chapel on Mar. 9, 2026.
WEBER, MARVIN J. of Waterford; Born January 2, 1945 in St. Johns, Michigan; Passed away March 8, 2026 at the age of 81. Son of the late Gerard and Geraldine Weber; Loving husband of his high school sweetheart Judy M. Weber for 60 years; Beloved father of Jennifer (the late William) Briese, Steven (Lisa) Weber and Matthew (Vickie) Weber; Cherished grandfather of Ted (Ashley) King, Tony (Julia) Weber, Bruce (Bethany) Weber, Stephanie (Mitchel) Beerse, Emily (Evan Osborn) Briese, Samantha (James) Provot and Brittany (Michael) Burgess; Also survived by 7 great-grandchildren; Dear brother of Nancy (the late Charlie) Overfield and the late: Diana Weber and John (Connie) Weber. Marvin was an avid outdoorsman , hunter and fisherman who enjoyed spending time at his property on Long Lake. He was a combat veteran who served in the United States Army during the war in Vietnam. Marvin was shot in the shoulder on the day his daughter Jennifer was born. He received a Purple Heart and Bronze Star for his heroic actions. Following the war he attended yearly reunions of his military unit in northern Ohio. Marvin was deeply disappointed by the reception veterans received when they returned from Vietnam. Eventually he found a group of veterans who met regularly for breakfast and provided each other the support they had earned. His concern for fellow service members caused him to encourage every veteran he ever met to join the group. This same concern for his fellow man was the reason he was an organ donor at the time of his passing. Marvin was a charter member of Saint Perpetua Catholic Church, 134 Airport Road, Waterford where a Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday March 14, 2026 at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow at All Saints Cemetery, Waterford. The family will receive friends on Friday from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Riverside Chapel, Simpson-Modetz Funeral Home, 5630 Pontiac Lake Road, Waterford and Saturday at Saint Perpetua Catholic Church from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Tunnels to Towers Foundation in support of our veterans and first responders.
