Marvina Ann Ortiz, departed this life peacefully on the afternoon of Wednesday, November 12, 2025. Born in Statesboro, Georgia, on October 14, 1947, Marvina lived a life rich with love, laughter, and faith.

A beloved homemaker, Marvina devoted her life to nurturing her family and creating a warm and loving home.

Marvina was deeply rooted in her Catholic faith and was a proud member of the Native American community. Her spiritual journey was enriched by her love for Sunday morning gospels which reverberated throughout her home. Marvina will long be remembered for the joyous way she lived her life always ready to boogie and jam to her favorite tunes.

Committed to her family and friends, Marvina had the remarkable gift of making every person feel special, never missing an opportunity to reach out on birthdays. Her love for her family was second only to her affection for her cherished cats, who were constant companions in her daily life.

An artistic soul, Marvina’s legacy will also be remembered through her beautiful quilts and intricate cooking, which she lovingly gifted to friends and family.

Marvina was predeceased by her loving husband, Jose P. Ortiz; her son, Antonio Jose Ortiz; her father, Marvin Gordon Brown; her mother, Annie Belle Brown; and her brothers, Archie Marvin Brown and Henry C. Brown.

She is survived by her daughters, Karleshia "Kashi" Ortiz and Feleena "Nina" Ortiz; her siblings, Phynita Lee Terrell, Robert Brown (Joycee), Natalie Houch, Virginia "Jenny" Meyer and Daniel Brown (Lynn); seven grandchildren, fourteen great grand children, and one great great grandchild on the way; she is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

To celebrate Marvina’s life, visitation will be held at Baker McCullough Funeral Home Garden City Chapel in Garden City, Georgia, on Saturday, November 15, 2025, from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family for funeral expenses.

Arrangements have been thoughtfully provided by Baker McCullough Funeral Home-Garden City Chapel, honoring Marvina's life and her lasting impact on all who knew her.
