Mary Theresa Allen

TACOMA, WASHINGTON -Mary Theresa (Scribner) Allen went to join her Lord on October 1, 2025.
Mary was born on October 7, 1935, in Alexandria, Indiana to William and Theresa (Watson) Scribner. She was a graduate of Alexandria High School-Class of 1954. She graduated from Indiana Business College in Anderson in 1955. In 1977, Mary moved to Tacoma with her children and began a career at Pacific Lutheran University as Administrative Assistant to the Registrar. She took an early retirement after 16 years and embarked on a new career in Real Estate Sales, which she absolutely loved. She began at Century 21 and moved on to Coldwell Banker. Upon retirement from sales, she and Larry became snowbirds and loved Tucson, Arizona. Mary and Larry also enjoyed a number of cruises and road trips.
She is survived by her husband of 45 Years, Larry R Allen, children: Patsy (Ron) Reeves of Wenatchee, Steve (Sheri) Ice of Lacey and Krista (David) Wessel of Port Orchard, 12 grandchildren located locally and in Alaska and Virginia. In addition, she was blessed with 6 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother-William Scribner, sons Eddie Ice and Larry Allen Jr.
A Christian celebration of Mary's life will be held at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 112th & Bingham, Tacoma on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at 1:00 pm.
Tentative arrangements are being made for a graveside interment of cremains in the IOOF Cemetery in Alexandria, Indiana, in early May of 2026.
