Mary Lou Anderson was called home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 8, 2025. She lived a life rooted in faith and a strong devotion to her Lord and Savior Christ, family and friends. Mary Lou was born on September 16, 1935 in Grape Creek, TX to Jessie Barber Duncan and Edward Jackson Duncan. The family soon moved to Comanche County and settled near the community of DeLeon, TX and later set down permanent roots in South East Comanche County near Carlton, TX. She was married to Harry Gale Anderson on December 23, 1953 near Sipe Springs, TX. The couple spent the next ten years in Lubbock, TX before moving back to their permanent home near Rising Star, TX in 1963. Harry and Mary soon welcomed a son, Edward Asa Anderson in June of 1964 and the family built a good life together based on love of God, hard work and an unwavering dedication to family, friends and neighbors. In addition to the countless contributions as a wife, mother and rancher, Mary also worked outside the home in order to make ends meet. Mary worked in numerous retail positions, as an executive secretary, as a bookkeeper, as a bank teller and as a certified nurse's aide. She was always known for her smile, sharp wit, expressions and laughter which when heard was undoubtedly Mary Lou. Harry and Mary went through life side by side and always together through thick and thin. The couple were happily married for 37 years before Harry was called home by the Lord in 1990. 2 Timothy 4:7 KJV 7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Mary leaves behind a legacy of quiet generosity, steadfast loyalty, and unwavering love for her family, friends and neighbors. Mary Lou's memory will be kept alive by her son and daughter-in-law, Edward Asa and Jennifer Anne Anderson of Spring, TX, two granddaughters, Jessica LeAnne Anderson and Alexandria Meghan Anderson-Gonzalez, both of Spring, TX; two great grandchildren; Soryn Quinn Gonzalez and Declan Wyatt Gonzalez also of Spring, TX as well as a host of family, extended family and friends. As Mary Lou was an avid supporter of local volunteer fire departments and the United States Armed Forces should an alternative to flowers be sought, please consider a donation to your local volunteer fire department or worthy veteran's organization.
